Mastering Your Cleaning Routine

Do You Need to Hire Some Road Maintenance Equipment?

by Yolanda Watts

Many companies, land subdivisions and private properties have quite long road systems across Australia. Even those in more suburban areas might have quite a long stretch of road either connecting their property to the main road or individual buildings to each other onsite. These roads are often in far worse shape than those that you would expect to drive on, but they are left to rot because no one knows how to fix them on their own.

Luckily there are many road maintenance equipment companies that can provide you with all the tools you need to restore your road to a usable service. Here are three signs that indicate you should hire road maintenance equipment.

Deep Potholes

Most asphalt surfaces are going to have some level of potholes in them after regular use, but these can often be patched up with quick-fix asphalt. However, when the potholes get deep enough that they are going through the entire level of asphalt and hitting the aggregate below, you will need to use some more heavy-duty road maintenance equipment. This is to ensure that the asphalt is properly stamped into place and that this doesn't happen again for the same reason. Potholes are, unfortunately, impossible to prevent entirely.

Loose Edge

At some point, you might get the distinct feeling that the road you are driving on is getting thinner and thinner. This is true of most rural roads with no sealed or properly kerbed edges, as nature will work to reclaim whatever is in its path. If you can see chunks of asphalt breaking off on the side of the road then you might need to talk to a professional contractor about re-sealing the road and adding in some more asphalt so it doesn't fade away into anything. The sooner the better, as the more rain and other elements the road is exposed to, the quicker this decay will happen.

Faded Signage

There are often legal requirements (depending on what your property is used for) on the amount of paint and signs you must have around your road. If the paint is almost faded then it is time for a new coat. Luckily modern paint is more durable than ever, and it can be applied quicker too, but you do still need to arrange this to ensure you are following all legal guidelines. The last thing you want is to have to pay a fine on top of the cost of new paint, so don't let them catch you off-guard.
